Used mainly for interior finishes and as surface panels, KompacPanels offer a robust and durable function without the bulk. Comprised of multiple paper pulp layers soaked with bio resin, these panels are manufactured in Italy in accordance to the BS EN 438 European standards to achieve a solid core with a signature thickness of only six millimetres, topped with assorted textured finishes for maximised aesthetic appeal.

Due to the fact that all KomapacPanel installations are made to measure, smaller to medium offcuts left behind from these interior projects are often irregular and thus rarely reused, subsequently attributing to large amounts of waste.

In line with the brand’s sustainability efforts, Off-Kutt is the continuation of an open dialogue and exploration with KompacPlus. It’s a chimerical expression that seeks to evoke curiosity.

Commercially unviable, these offcuts that are on the brink of becoming trash are combined together in a sculptural mobile, extending the use of every KompacPanel so its story continues.

The soothing, bobbing movements of baby mobiles help to visually teach infants about colour, shape and texture. In a similar vein, Off-Kutt serves as a vehicle to present KompacPanels anew, to reconfigure our perceptions and to trigger our imagination about how these surfaces can be repurposed and reused, potentially setting the stage for future commercial and collaborative opportunities where KompacPanels serve as more than just flat surfaces for interior use.
